There is only one answer: a better nose. Anyone who thinks they will get their jobs back, or have someone look like their former husband, says Dr. Ellis, will have to give their decision more thought.
The Toronto surgeon first wrote “About Face” ten years ago; since then he’s seen a lot of changes in the reasons people get nose jobs. Today plastic surgeons avoid potentially fatal reactions from disgruntled patients by carefully screening them beforehand, and avoiding treating patients who are either too demanding, or too vague. Dr. Ellis insists that the goal of plastic surgery is never perfection, but rather harmony. New technology also allows surgeons to digitally image the new nose so patients can see beforehand exactly what the changes will produce.
Of course, the digital images won’t be showing you any changes in your life because of your new nose. Those changes are up to you.
